Yoghurt Face Mask – DIY

Sometime last week I asked my brother to buy me some yoghurt when he was coming back from school. I don’t actually like yoghurt but I’ve been trying to eat healthier and decided to give it another chance.

I couldn’t even swallow it  😭. For some reason, this particular one tasted extra disgusting. Long story short this yoghurt was looking at me in my fridge like;

Diddy the four gif yoghurt

And I decided not to let it go to waste. So I did a quick Google search, got my self acquainted with a few recipes and made sure that it was actually good for my skin, then proceeded to mix up the face mask.

Yoghurt Face Mask Recipe

For this mask I used;

2 tablespoons of fresh yoghurt

1 teaspoon of honey

You can change the proportions as you’d like and add ingredients to it as well. In DIY you can definitely do what you like.

NOTE: Please make sure you use a yoghurt that has active culture.Yoghurt face mask

However they word it, so far as you see the word ‘culture’ you’re good 👍🏽. Preferably use a plain/unflavored yoghurt.

I used Farm Pride yoghurt for this mask

After washing my face I applied the yoghurt mixture and left it for about 15 minutes.

The mask went on pretty smoothly and eventually began to dry up.

10 minutes later

15 minutes later I washed it off and my face felt so alive! It honestly felt so smooth and soft! I think I’m gonna officially add it to my skincare routine.

If you’re looking for an in expensive way to treat your skin I definitely think you should try it.

Benefits of Yoghurt for skin

  • Moisturizing: A Yoghurt face mask is great for every skin type but people with dry and oily skin especially, benefit from this moisturizing face mask. Applying this face mask 2-3 times a week will revive your skin, making it soft and supple.
  • Treats Acne: Yoghurt is both antibacterial and antifungal and could be used as a mild treatment for acne. Yoghurt masks can also help to reduce breakouts.
  • Lightens dark spots: When used regularly, yoghurt has lightening properties and can help improve discoloration and fade out acne scars.
